Welcome to Travel With Sue & Joe — a travel and cruising website created by two people who simply love getting out and experiencing the world together.

We’re based in Maine, and over the years our adventures have taken us from cruise ports and Caribbean beaches to hidden local restaurants, island bars, scenic walks, and unforgettable travel moments. What started as a way to share trips with family and friends has grown into a passion for creating travel content that helps others plan better vacations and discover places they may have otherwise overlooked.

Our style is simple:
real experiences, honest opinions, and no sugarcoating.

If a destination, restaurant, resort, excursion, or cruise experience is amazing, we’ll tell you. If something disappoints us, we’ll tell you that too. We believe travel content should feel authentic — like recommendations from friends, not commercials.

Through our videos, photos, guides, and travel stories, we hope to:

Meet Sue

Well… here’s a little introduction about me. It’s honestly not always easy talking about yourself, but I’m sure by now you can probably tell from the channel that I love to shop!

I’ve always loved looking for little treasures, travel finds, and unique things I can bring back for friends and family — and of course a few things for my house too. One of my favorite parts of traveling with Joe is finding local spices, sauces, and seasonings to bring home. Since Joe and I both love cooking, we always try to bring back flavors from the islands and places we visit. The best part is spices are easy to pack in your carry-on and TSA usually doesn’t give them a second look.

But beyond shopping, I truly love traveling and sharing our adventures. Even growing up as a child, I always had friends and family copying things I bought. Someone would ask, “Where did you get that?” and the next thing you know, we’d all be wearing the same jacket. It still makes me laugh.

I also absolutely love gardening because — let’s be honest — it’s another excuse to shop! Every year I enjoy picking out new annuals, plants, and shrubs to make the gardens look beautiful. I love mixing colors and textures and creating cozy outdoor spaces around our home.

Over the years I’ve worked in many different fields. Some of you may even remember that I once had a channel called “Susie Makeovers.” Back in the day I was a hairdresser, and I truly loved helping people feel beautiful and confident. I had an amazing clientele and met so many wonderful people through that part of my life.

I’m hoping that through our channel and this page, you’ll understand what everyone always says about me — I’m genuine, honest, and maybe just a little goofy at times… which honestly is part of what makes me me.

One of the biggest highlights of my life was marrying Joe in Hawaii. I can’t wait to share some of our wedding photos and memories from that trip with all of you. And yes… I actually bought my wedding dress from Amazon! It wasn’t expensive, but it was classic, beautiful, and absolutely perfect for our wedding day.

So welcome to our new channel and our little corner of the internet. As time goes on, you’ll get to know more about me, Joe, our travels, our cooking, our shopping finds, gardening adventures, and all the little things that make life fun along the way.

Meet Joe

Joe is usually the guy behind the camera — filming adventures, capturing memories, and turning trips into stories to share on Travel With Sue & Joe. He loves traveling, being outdoors, discovering hidden gems, and finding great local food wherever their adventures take them.

One of the most meaningful experiences of Joe’s life was marrying Sue in beautiful Hawaii. What started as a dream vacation became the beginning of a lifetime of adventures together. From the ocean views and island sunsets to the relaxed tropical atmosphere, Hawaii will always hold a special place in their hearts.

Another unforgettable adventure was their 2008 cross-country road trip along historic U.S. Route 66, which helped spark Joe’s love for road trips, roadside attractions, local restaurants, and discovering places off the beaten path.

When Sue and Joe first started their little YouTube project, Joe had absolutely no experience editing videos. Through plenty of late nights, trial and error, and a lot of YouTube tutorials, he taught himself how to film, edit, create thumbnails, and tell stories through video — and he’s still learning with every upload.

Joe is also a huge fan of camera gear and tech gadgets — maybe a little too much of a fan. Sue may think they only own “a few cameras,” but Joe has quietly mastered the art of adding new gear to the collection without revealing the actual total cost.

He’s also become highly skilled at surviving long shopping trips with Sue — carrying bags, offering opinions on outfits, and hearing “just one more store” more times than he can count.

Whether he’s behind the camera, editing videos late at night, exploring a new destination, or being Sue’s loyal shopping partner, Joe is always ready for the next adventure.
